5.5.2 Recording data while driving
Some diagnostic functions and data recording capabili-
ties are only available while driving, e.g. in order to re-
cord events only occurring while driving.
WARNING
Driving safety and braking effect may be im-
paired by connecting cables in the vicinity of
the driver and the distraction involved in using
the device while driving. Death or serious in-
jury.
Place, route and secure the ET250, and all con-
necting cables so that they do not reduce safe-
ty while driving and access to the brake pedal.
The ET250 may only be used by trained and in-
structed workshop personnel.
The ET250 must be operated by a person other
than the driver while driving.
During the data recording always observe the
legal requirements for road traffic.

1. Route the OBD connection cable 1 684 465 756 in-
side the vehicle in such a way that driving safety is
not impaired by the cable in the driver's vicinity.
Always comply with traffic regulations while re-
cording data.
2. The passenger must perform the data recording and
system supervision.

5.6 Software updating
Software updates are downloaded in the background
when an internet connection is active. Once the down-
load of a software update is finished, it will be offered
for installation in a pop-up message.
1. Start installation by tapping the pop-up message.
2. Read and follow the instructions on screen.

5.7 System recovery
If the current software version causes problems
or if the ET250 is to be sold, reset the ET250 to
factory settings. This deletes all data and settings
from the ET250, e.g. license information, log files,
user settings, test protocols, images.
Restore the system by following the instructions from
the ET250 Help Center.

6.1 Cleaning
Use only neutral cleaning agents and soft cloth to
clean the ET250.
Coarse workshop rags and abrasive cleaning
agents may damage the ET250 .

7. Decommissioning
7.1 Changing location
If the ET250 is passed on, all the documentation inclu-
ded in the scope of delivery must be handed over to-
gether with the unit.
The ET250 is only ever to be transported in the origi-
nal or equivalent packaging.
Heed the notes on initial commissioning.
Before handing over, reset ET250 to factory settings.

7.2 Disposal
Dismantle the ET250 and sort out and dispose of the
different materials in accordance with the applicable
regulations.
Proper disposal prevents environmental pollution and
health hazards.
The ET250 is subject to the European directive
2012/19/EU (WEEE).
