The results of the test in accordance with EN
60335-1 and EN 60335-2-69 were that the
safety-related requirements in terms of electrical
safety and when vacuuming a mixture of water
and air are fulfilled.
The dust extractor is designed for demanding
tasks in commercial applications. In accordance
with EN 60335-1 and EN 60335-2-69.
1.8
Use according to intended purpose
In general, no combustible or explo-
sive solvents, liquids such as ben-
zine, oil, alcohol, dilution or material
that is hotter than 60 °C may be vac-
uumed. Otherwise there is a risk of
explosion and fire!
The dust extractor is tested in accordance with the
EC Declaration of Conformity and is thus suitable for
separating wood dust. The residual dust content
level "M" 0,1 % (< 2 mg/m³) is reliably maintained.
The suitability of the device is in reference to vacu-
uming dry wood dust and dry wood chips with a
wood moisture < 30 %.
The dust extractor is suitable for capturing, convey-
ing and separating wood dust and chips on individ-
ual dust sources.
This means that the dust extractor may only be com-
bined with a single dust source. If another dust
source must be vacuumed after vacuuming on a first
dust source is complete, the connecting hose must
be disconnected and reconnected.
The following requirement applies to combination
devices / dust extractors that may be used as indus-
trial vacuum cleaners: "The dust extractor may also
be used for vacuuming and separating deposited
wood chips if the operating mode switch is set to
industrial vacuum cleaner (I)."
The dust extractor can be used to vacuum wood
chips and wood dust from woodworking devices and
machines that have a hose connector 35 mm
(1 3/8 in.) in diameter.
The S 50 M / S 25 M dust extractor is especially well
suited for vacuuming electrical tools. Additional pos-
sibilities for usage include construction, where large
quantities of fine dry dust accumulates, cleaning the
interior of automobiles, and wherever moist and dry
dust and dirt need to be cleaned up, washing water
must be vacuumed up, plugged water basins and
outlet flows must be emptied, "overflows" in the
bathroom, kitchen or basement must be cleaned up
or mudpuddles accumulate in front of doors.
Any use beyond this scope is considered as failing
to comply with the intended purpose. The manufac-
turer is not liable for any damage caused as a result
of this; the risk is borne solely by the user.
This device is not suitable for operation in the rain
outdoors or in areas subject to explosion hazards.
Use according to intended purpose also includes
compliance with the operating, maintenance and
repair conditions specified by MAFELL, and adher-
ence to the safety instructions contained in the oper-
ating manual.
The dust extractor S 50 M / S 25 M must be oper-
ated, tooled and maintained only by persons familiar
with the device and instructed as to the risks. Repair
work must be carried out by authorized MAFELL
dealers or a MAFELL customer service station.
The safety regulations applicable in the country of
use, as well as all other generally accepted rules on
safety and occupational medicine, must be
observed.
Unauthorized modifications to the device preclude
the liability of the manufacturer for any resultant
damage.
1.9
Residual risks
Residual risks may also arise owing
to the design of the device relating
to its intended purpose even if the
machine is used properly and in
compliance with all safety regula-
tions; e.g.:
Touching live parts with the housing open and
the mains plug not removed.
Emission of wood dust that is hazardous to the
health during extended operation with a dam-
aged fold filter 5 (Fig. 2 - page 3), filter bag 8
(Fig. 4 - page 3) or motors protection filter 6
(Fig. 2 - page 3) in enclosed areas without ade-
quate ventilation.
When changing a filter bag or emptying the con-
tainer, the user must be protected from breath-
ing in dust (breathing protection).
