SIGMA LASER STENT AND TUBE CUTTER

Setting Closing Force  -  Preload 

1.

 

With the orange preload knob the disc springs are compressed by turning the knob clockwise. 
While turning the preload knob, move the tubing slowly back and forth until it is grabbed by 
the collet and does not move any more. 

2.

 

From this point, turn the preload 
knob with the orange preload 
wrench another 1/12 of   turn , 
about 30° , to provide a light 
holding force for the collet.  

NOTES: 

 

For delicate stock this may 
have to be reduced to about 
half, 15°. 

 

For heavy stock tubing, 
large diameter and thick 
wall and long stock length, 
increase to 60°; but in any 
case less than a 1/4 turn. 

 

 

3.

 

Secure this position of the preload knob by using 2-4 set-screws. Tighten very lightly to avoid 
damaging the thread on the drawbar. 

4.

 

Test the pneumatic clamping module to release the collet by using the touch screen button 
marked  

COLLET

. 

5.

 

When the collet releases properly and the tubing stock is free to move easily, the collet system 
is ready for operation.
