Premier 4-4-2 Atlantic E-6 Steam Engine
Light Replacement Instructions
The locomotive’s lights are controlled by a constant voltage circuit in the
engine. See the diagrams and directions below for instructions on accessing
and replacing the light bulbs in this locomotive.
You can obtain replacement bulbs directly from the M.T.H. Parts Department
(phone: 410-381-2580; e-mail: [email protected]; mail: 7020 Columbia

Headlight and Marker Lights:
Headlight Bulb:
1. Remove the boiler shell from the chassis as shown in figure 7 on page 12.
2. Open the smoke box door by pulling on the railing of the smoke box door.
3. Remove the two screws attaching the headlight shell and bracket to the
boiler.
4. Locate and unplug the headlight wires from the connector.
5. Remove the light bulb from the rear of the headlight shell by gently pulling
the bulb through the rear of the shell.
6. Thread the wires of the new bulb along side the smoke unit in the boiler,
using the same route as the original wires.
7. Insert bulb into the headlight shell.
8. Reinstall the headlight shell onto the boiler using the same screws.
9. Plug the headlight bulb into the proper connector.
Reinstall the boiler shell onto the chassis. Be sure not to pinch any of the wires
while reinstalling the boiler to the chassis.
Boiler Mounted Marker LEDs:
1. Remove the boiler shell from the chassis as shown in figure 7 on page 12.
2. Open the smoke box door by pulling on the railing of the smoke box door.
3. Disconnect the marker LED wires from the harness.
