GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS
The certification of this lock is based on this mounting instruction. Read carefully.
The force applied to the lock bolt should not exceed 1 kN. If higher force is applied, please consult with
the manufacturer / certificate holder (M-LOCKS). Only use supplied screws (M6) to mount the lock.
Tightening torque 4,5 Nm.
The position of the cable entry depends on the input unit used. The Tantum motor lock is available with
and without drill protection. When installing the lock behind a cable feed-through / opening always the
lock with the factory anti-drilling protection (Tantum anti drill) must be used.
Attention! The certification of the lock types ‘Tantum anti drill’ is only valid with the drill protection
applied at the factory. The standard dimensions are 30x45x1.5 (LxWxH, in mm). The lock loses its
certification if you retrofit the drill protection yourself. Depending on the area of application,
construction and resistance class of your secure storage unit, it may be possible that you need a
stronger drilling protection or that the lock shall be protected by other constructive measures to
achieve the required resistance class.
A lock without drilling protection shall not be installed behind an existing cable guide / opening.
The maximum size of the cable / spindle-hole must not exceed a diameter (Ø) of 15 mm or the
contour of the key hole shown below.
The lock has to be fitted exclusively on a steel secure storage. The mounting base also must be made
of steel. Installation on other materials only after consultation with M-LOCKS or certification institute.
