Windshield Mounting Options (Restrictions & Recommendations)
The figures below provide Lytx’s recommendations for mounting the WU on the vehicle
windshield that work within the guidelines set forth by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety
Administration (FMCSA). Lytx’s “Two-Inch Allowance” is within the federal guidelines for video
event recorders. However, some states have adopted laws that restrict locations where objects
can be attached to the vehicle windshield. Always refer to any applicable federal, state, provincial
and local laws that prohibit mounting devices on vehicle’s windshield or other locations in a
vehicle.
