• In case a trolley is used, it must be equipped with conductive wheels and must be included to the
equipotential bonding, together with pump tube and drive motor. The conductive wheels must be kept
clean.
• The hose line connected to the pump’s pressure joint may not exceed a resistance of 10
6
Ω between the
end fittings. The hose line must be checked and marked according to DIN EN 12 115.
• The bearing / seal must be protected against rare malfunctions. This protective measure consists of
filling the inside of the pump with fluid. The operator must continuously control the pump to prevent
rare malfunctions and simultaneously explosive atmosphere.
• The pump must not be used unattended. Dry running resp. idling of the pump has to be prevented.
• During operation, the pump must be completely outside the container.
• Provide a motor protection and an on/off switch against automatically starting the pump when inserting
the plug.
• Electric connection in explosion hazard areas only with explosion proof plug or explosion proof terminal
box.
• The maintenance intervals of the ball bearings must be observed (
→
chapter 8, maintenance and
servicing).
• When assembling / disassembling the pump tube to / from the motor, check the coupling and the
synthetic ring for wear and replace, if necessary (
→
Fig. 2).
• Only use mechanical seals provided by Lutz Pumpen for this pump
when used in hazardous areas.
• Only motors and mechanical seals may be used which are suitable
for operation in the respective direction of rotation.
