3. Roughen the surface evenly with sandpaper, wire brush, emery cloth or steel
wool. Take care not to gouge surface, it may show through the paint.
4. Thoroughly clean the surface with a lacquer thinner to remove all traces of dirt,
grease, fingerprints, etc.
5. Spray bare aluminum with an acid etch wash primer in a uniform light coating.
Take care not to produce runs.
6. After primer is dry, spray several light coats of vinyl base aluminum boat fin
ish. Allow each coat to dry a few minutes before spraying the next.
REPAINTINg WITHOuT REMOVINg OLD FINISHINg
1. Touch up small scratches with touch-up paint. Allow to dry to a hard surface.
2. Lightly sand entire surface, including the touched-up areas.
3. Clean the entire surface with a mild cleaning agent.
4. Spray several light coats of vinyl base aluminum paint, allow each coat to dry a
few minutes before spraying the next
uSE OF ANTI-FOuLINg PAINTS
To prolong the beauty of your boat, use fresh water to wash salt deposits off bare
aluminum trim.
uPHOLSTERY
1. As needed, wax all vinyl with a good grade of vinyl protective wax.
2. Avoid harsh detergents, as these may eventually damage the threads on seams.
(Wax should clean soiled areas sufficiently.)
3. On fabric cushions, use foam type upholstery cleaner. Do not dry clean.
4. Do not use solvents, bleaches, or abrasive cleaners, as they will cause perma-
nent damage.

Under no circumstances should a copper, lead, arsenic, or mercury based anti-foul-
ing paint be applied, either with or without the use of a primer coat. Consult your
dealer and follow paint manufacturer’s application instructions. Lund boats cannot
be held responsible for chemical reactions resulting from the application of anti-
fouling paint products.
