TROUBLESHOOTING
Check the following points before contacting your dealer for repairs.
Problem
Possible cause
Action
Nothing happens when
the unit is started.
Check that the
battery is fully
charged.
Charge the battery if necessary.
No sensor is detected.
The unit detects
and identifies a
connected sensor
automatically.
Check when starting that the correct
sensor is connected to the unit. Check
that the sensor cable is intact along its
entire length.
Check that the sensor is fully covered
by water. If the sensor is connected to
the unit via a switch, connect it directly
to the sensor and try again.
If none of these measures rectify the
problem, the sensor is probably
defective. Always include the sensor
when returning the unit for repair.
No bottom profile is shown
on the display.
In deep water you
may need to
increase the
sensitivity manually
to retain the graphic
image of the
bottom.
Check that the sensor cable is intact
along its entire length.
If none of these measures rectify the
problem, the sensor is probably
defective. Always include the sensor
when returning the unit for repair.
In shallow water the
display of the bottom
profile jumps and the
indicated depth is not
right.
The unit does not
work reliably in
water shallower
than 0.9 metres.
Note that the depth is measured from
the sensor, not from the surface of the
water.
The display shows a lot of
black dots at high speed
or high sensitivity.
This is noise or
interference. Noise
can be caused by
electronic
equipment.
Switch off any electronic equipment in
the vicinity and see of the problem
stops. The noiose from the boat engine
can cause interference. If so, the
problem should get worse at high
engine speed. Check by increasing the
engine speed when no gears are
engaged.
Propeller cavitation can also be seen
as interference on the display. If the
sensor is fitted too close to the
propeller, turbulence from the propeller
can interfere with the signal from
Fishfinder. The sensor should be fitted
at least 380 mm from the propeller.
