– a 1050Hz-tone burst transmitted from the NOAA
Weather service – is issued, a special circuit in the radio detects the
tone and during scanning modes (except All Scan), a loud 2-tone warn-
ing will sound. The warning tone is canceled by pressing any key. The
radio will stop scanning and switch to the
WX
channel to broadcast the
warning. You know the radio is scanning the
WX
channel, if you see the
W
X ANNUNCIATOR
flash as it scans through the weather channels.
