OPERATING ELEMENTS
Fuel valve
The fuel valve opens and closes the fuel line between fuel tank and
carburettor.
This lever must be set to ON to start the engine.
The fuel valve must be set to OFF if the engine is not operated to
prevent “flooding” of the carburettor and possible gasoline spilling.
Throttle lever
Use the throttle lever to adjust the SPEED of the engine.
Moving the throttle lever in the direction indicated increases or
reduces the engine speed.
Ignition switch
The ignition switch switches the ignition system on or off.
The switch must be set to ON to start the engine.
The engine stops when the switch is moved to OFF.
Choke lever
The choke lever opens and closes the choke valve in the
carburettor.
In the CLOSED position the fuel mixture is enriched for cold
starting.
In the OPEN position the correct fuel mixture is supplied for the
operation following the engine start and for restarting a warm
engine.
Cranking rope handle
Pulling the cranking rope handle starts the engine.

CHECKS BEFORE STARTING
IS THE ENGINE READY TO START?
To ensure your safety and to maximize the service life of the engine its
condition must be checked before each start. Correct any possible
problems or have them remedied by your customer service before
starting the engine.
Improper maintenance or troubleshooting prior to starting may trigger
malfunctions and cause serious injuries.
Regular inspections before starting help prevent problems.
