Hydraulic Fluid Filter

The hydraulic fluid filter (1) should be changed after
the initial 50 hours of use, and then every 250 hours
thereafter.
The filter should also be replaced whenever the hydraulic
fluid is changed or whenever the system is opened for
maintenance. At the same time, wash the filler/breather
at the same time in solvent.
The filter is located at the rear of the hydraulic reservoir.
Changing the Hydraulic Fluid Filter
Park the machine on a flat surface. Stop the engine.
Set the parking brake.
Unscrew the hydraulic filter.
IMPORTANT: Dispose of the used hydraulic fluid filter in
accordance with local, state, and federal
environmental regulations.
Clean the filler base area at filter mount.
Spread a thin coat of clean fluid on the new filter seal.
Screw the new filter to the the filter base.
IMPORTANT: Make sure new filter is a 10 micron filter of
the same quality as provided by Loftness.
Start the engine and check for leaks.
Hydraulic Reservoir Breather
The tank top filler is equipped with a breather that
maintains atmospheric pressure in the reservoir.
The breather should be cleaned as needed, or replaced
after 250 hours of operation.
Relief Valve

The relief valve (1) is located on the control valve and is set
at 2,500 psi (17,237 kPa). The relief valve is adjustable.
To check the relief valve pressure:
Disconnect the pressure line (2) from port “B” on the
control valve.
Install a pressure gauge into the port.
Run engine at full speed. Actuate auger engage lever just
long enough to measure hydraulic pressure.
NOTE: A low pressure reading may indicate the need to
adjust the relief valve. If pressure is below 2,000
psi (13,790 kPa), the pump is most likely worn
and needs to be replaced.
