General Maintenance
IMPORTANT
: Refer to “Maintenance Safety” on page
7 and become familiar with the safety
rules before performing any maintenance
or service on the Bad Ax.
To ensure efficient operation, you should inspect,
lubricate, and make necessary adjustments and repairs
at regular intervals. Parts that are starting to show
wear should be ordered ahead of time, before a costly
breakdown occurs and you have to wait for replacement
parts. Keep good maintenance records, and adequately
clean your disc mulcher after each use.
Proper lubrication is important. Too little lubricant will
cause premature failure of a bearing. Too much lubrication
usually causes high operating temperature and early
failure of seals. Follow all lubrication instructions and
schedules included in this section.
Break-In Schedule
Inspect and service after one (1) hour of operation all
bolts, teeth, and motor mount.
Regular maintenance should then be followed thereafter.
Refer to the chart below for the maintenance schedule.

before lubricating.
Use a #2 general purpose lithium based grease unless
noted otherwise.
NOTE: Replace any broken or missing grease fittings.
Be sure to clean fittings before greasing.

location and identification.
