• If marinated food is to be grilled, remove any surplus marinade and dry the food
off with paper towels before placing it on the grill plate. Some marinades have a
high sugar content and they can char the grill plate during grilling.
• In order to prevent burning or caramelising, marinades that contain too much
sugar or honey must be grilled at a medium setting.
• Always seal the meat on the preheated grill plate using the highest setting to
retain the meat juices. Then set the thermostat control back to a medium setting to
grill the meat slowly.
• Ensure that the dishes are not grilled for too long. Some dishes are tastier when
they are pink and juicy.
• Do not prick the meat with a fork or knife during grilling, otherwise it will lose its
meat juices resulting in tough, dry meat. Use tongs or a spatula.
• Flip the meat and fish only once during grilling. By turning it too often or grilling
at a temperature which is too low, it will be tough.
• To remove fish from the grill plate, you should use a heat-resistant plastic spatula.
CLEANING
• Do not use plastic spatulas which are not heat-resistant. Do not use knives or
other sharp metal objects on the non-stick layer of the grill plate.
• Clean the grill plate after each use to prevent remnants of food remaining on it.
Before cleaning the appliance, switch it off and remove the plug from the wall
socket.
• After switching off the grill plate, ensure that it has time to cool down. The grill
plate is easier to clean when it is still slightly warm.
• Wipe the baking plate clean with a soft cloth or paper towels. For the removal of
caked-on food remnants, use a soft sponge with warm water and a little detergent.
• Do not use abrasive or other aggressive cleaning agents. Never immerse the
appliance in water or other liquids.
• Discolouring of the baking plate only affects the appearance of the grill plate and
has absolutely no effect on the way it operates.
• Ensure that the grill plate is clean and dry before you store it. Store the grill plate
preferably in the original box.
• Do not place anything on the upper side of the grill plate to avoid damaging the
non-stick layer.
