Active Park Assist
*
Detects an
available parallel
or perpendicular
parking space and
automatically steers
the vehicle into the
space (hands-free)
while you control the accelerator,
gearshift and brakes. The system
visually and audibly instructs you to
park your vehicle.
To use:
To use active park assist, press
the button
on the right side
of the instrument panel or on the
center console, depending on
your vehicle. Press once for
parallel parking, or twice for
perpendicular parking.
To stop the parking procedure, grab
the steering wheel or
press the button again. For
complete information, refer

.
Note:
The driver is always responsible
for controlling the vehicle, supervising
the system, and intervening, if required.
Front and Rear Parking Aids
*
Sounds a warning tone if there is an
obstacle near the front or rear bumper
The front sensors are active when
the transmission is in any position other
than park (P) and the vehicle is traveling
at low speed. The rear sensors are
active when the transmission is in
reverse (R) and your vehicle speed is
below 3 mph (5 km/h). The warning
tone increases in frequency as the
object gets closer.
Autolamps*
When the lighting control is in the
autolamps position
, the headlamps
automatically turn on in low light
situations or when the wipers activate.
The headlamps remain on for a period
of time after you switch the ignition off.
Use the information display controls
to adjust the period of time that the
headlamps remain on.
Silent Key Start
When you switch on the ignition, your engine may not sound like
it has started because your hybrid vehicle is equipped with silent
key start. This fuel-saving feature allows your vehicle to be ready to
drive without requiring your gas engine to be running. Look for the
green ‘ready to drive’ indicator light in your information display. When the light
displays, your vehicle has been successfully started and is ready to drive.
ECOSelect
This feature is designed to offer the best possible fuel economy with only a
slight impact to vehicle performance and comfort. To activate ECOSelect, press
the
button and a graphic shows on your information display.
With ECOSelect active, you may notice:
Less aggressive cooling.
Softer acceleration, increased deceleration when coasting, and changes in
engine, braking and cruise control behavior.
See the
Unique Driving Characteristics
chapter in your
Owner's Manual
for more information.
Unique Driving Characteristics
This hybrid vehicle combines electric and gasoline propulsion to provide
breakthrough performance and improved efficiency. Familiarizing yourself with
these unique characteristics will provide an optimal driving experience from your
new vehicle.
Accelerating:
Step on the gas and get all the responsiveness of a traditional
gasoline engine.
City Driving:
In stop-and-go driving and at low speeds, the electric motor
provides the necessary power, with the gas engine only kicking in to recharge
the battery or when more power is needed.
Cruising/Highway Driving:
Due to greater power demands at highway speeds,
your vehicle uses the gasoline engine more frequently than while driving at city
traffic speeds. This is normal.
Braking:
Your vehicle is equipped with standard hydraulic braking and
regenerative braking. The regenerative braking system allows the energy
normally lost through braking to be recovered and stored in the high-voltage
battery.
Stopped:
To save energy, the gasoline engine usually turns off.
EV+ Mode
EV+
allows your vehicle to learn frequent destinations and automatically change
to electric mode when nearing your destination. The EV indicator displays
EV+
when this mode is active. You should see this about 1/8 mile (200 meters) from
a frequent destination.
Note:
You can switch the
EV+
feature on and off through the
Driver Assist
section of the
Settings
menu in your information display.

Configurable Daytime Running Lamps
*
When you switch this feature ON in the information display, daytime
running lamps turn on when you are driving, the lighting control is in the
autolamps position
and the headlamps are off. You can switch the
Configurable Daytime Running Lamps feature ON or OFF using the information
display. See the
Lighting

Owner’s Manual
for more information.

steering and handling.
There are a range of modes you can choose from to customize your ideal driving
experience. Use the information display to set your preference:
Normal:
Delivers a balanced combination of comfortable, controlled ride and
confident handling.
Comfort:
Provides a more relaxed driving experience, maximizing comfort.

Provides a sportier driving experience with an emphasis on handling
and control.
Refer to the
Driving Aids
chapter of your
Owner's Manual
for more details.
Lane Keeping System*
This system uses a camera mounted behind the interior mirror to detect
unintentional drifting toward the outside of the lane. If drifting is detected, the
system either vibrates the steering wheel (Alert mode) or assists the driver by
gently steering back toward the center of the lane (Aid mode). The activation
button
is on the end of the direction indicator lever. See the
Driving Aids
chapter in your
Owner's Manual
for complete information.
