3 – Components of the kit
IF92 converter can be made up of the following
parts:
1. connection and conversion box, it is fitted
with terminals
1

4
to allow the
connection to the Lika device; and with a
cable
6
with integral USB connector on one
side to allow the connection to the personal
computer; the USB connector is a male A
type connector;
2. AC-DC power supply
7
: AC input voltage
min. = 100V, max. = 240V; nominal output
voltage = +24Vdc;
3. drivers to install the converter, they can be
downloaded from the DOWNLOAD section in
the web page of the IF92;
4. optional mating cordset to be used to
connect a device equipped with a connector,
it must be ordered separately. For any
information on the characteristics of the
cable and its pin-out please refer to the
documentation of the cordset, see the list in
the previous page.
4 - Electrical connections
4.1 Connection of the Lika device
Four terminals

are available in order to allow
the connection of the Lika device. The labels explain
the meaning of each terminal and shows visually the
colour of the wire to be connected when you use the
EC-... mating cordset.
WARNING
If you connect a device fitted with a
cable with flying leads (so not requiring
an EC-... mating cordset), the colours of
the wires in the cable of the device may not match
the colours shown in the labels of the terminals. So
always check the function of each wire. Connect the
wires to the terminals according to the colours
indicated either in the label for EC-... cables or in the
relevant QR for cable output.
1. Terminal +Vdc
. It powers the
device. If you do not connect the external
power supply
7
via the female barrel
connector
5
, the terminal
1
de5Vdc
voltage level electric power, it is supplied by
the personal computer via the USB
connector
6
. On the other hand, if you
connect the external power supply
7
, the
terminal
1
delivers +24Vdc voltage level
electric power.
WARNING
If the connected device requires
+5Vdc voltage level electric
power, DO NOT connect the
external power supply
7
. Connect the
external power supply
7
only if the device
requires an input voltage higher than +5Vdc.
2. Terminal 0V
. It is for 0Vdc of both
the device and the RS-232 serial port (if
available).
5. Terminal Tx
. Terminal used to
connect the Rx channel of the device. Please
