8. Firmware Update

HDMI-TPS-RX110AY series – User's Manual

ATTENTION!

Whilethefirmwareisbeingupdated,thenormaloperationmodeissuspendedasthedevice

isswitchedtobootloadmode.Signalprocessingisnotperformed.Donotinterruptthefirmwareupdate.

If any problem occurs, reboot the device and restart the process.

8.1.

Introduction

LightwareDeviceUpdaterv2(LDU2)softwareisthesecondgenerationoftheLFP-

based(LightwareFirmwarePackage)firmwareupdateprocess.

DIFFERENCE:

ThesoftwarecanbeusedforuploadingthepackageswithLFP2

extension only. LDU2 is not suitable for using LFP files, please use the LDU

softwareforthatfirmwareupdate.

8.2.

Preparation

MostLightwaredevicescanbecontrolledovermoreinterfaces(e.g.Ethernet,USB,RS-232).Butthefirmware

can be updated usually over one dedicated interface, which is the Ethernet in most cases.

Ifyouwanttoupdatethefirmwareofoneormoredevicesyouneedthefollowing:

LDU2 software

installed on your PC or Mac.

Both can be downloaded from

www.lightware.com/downloads

Optionally, you can download the

release notes

fileinHTMLformat.

8.2.1.

About the Firmware Package (LFP2 File)

AllthenecessarytoolsandbinaryfilesarepackedintotheLFP2packagefile.Youneedonlythisfiletodo

the update on your device.

ThisallowstheuseofthesameLFP2packagefordifferentdevices.

Thepackagecontainsallthenecessarycomponents,binary,andotherfiles.

▪

ThereleasenotesisincludedintheLFP2filewhichisdisplayedinthewindowwhereyouselectthe
firmwarepackagefileinLDU2.

Minimumsystemrequirement:2GBRAM.Theminimumscreenresolutionis1600x900.

Run the installer. If the User Account Control displays a pop-up message click

another location just drag the icon over the desired folder.

ATTENTION!

Please check the firewall settings on the

macOSdevice.LDCneedstobeaddedtotheexceptions

of the blocked software for the proper operation.

Step 1.

Download the

archive file

(tar.gz) from

www.lightware.com

and unpack it to a temp

folder.

install_ldu2.sh

followingfolder:HOME/.local/share/lightware/ldu2.

Step 3.

Above folder will contain this file:

LightwareDeviceUpdaterV2.sh

that can be used to

startLDU2.
