A message will be displayed asking you to confirm the action:

Contents will be lost. Continue?

Select Yes to proceed with disk wiping and encryption. A status bar will indicate the progress of the encryption

task.
After the disk has been encrypted, the MFP will return to the Enable/Disable screen.
Warning: Do not power off the device during the encryption process. Doing so may result in loss of data.

Note: Disk encryption can take several hours to complete.

To finish, press Back, and then Exit Config Menu.

The MFP will power-on reset, and then return to normal operating mode.

Disabling the USB Buffer

Disabling the USB buffer disables the USB host port on the back of the device.

From the home screen, touch Menus > Network/Ports > Standard USB.

Scroll to the left to set the USB Buffer to Disabled.

Touch Submit.
