If there is already another device linked to the host via SCSI cable, remove the terminator from that
device.  If the terminator can not be removed, it is recommended that the connection of Configuration I
be used.

Set scanner’s SCSI terminator switch on.

Plug one end of the SCSI cable to one female connector of the previous device or the host.

SCSI specifications require that:

1.

 

Only one terminator may be attached to each end of the daisy chain.

2.

 

The total length of the daisy chain must not exceed 6 meters. The vendor suggests that the SCSI cable be
two or three meters in length to allow other devices to be attached to the SCSI bus.

3.

 

Each device on the chain will be assigned a different ID. Devices with the same SCSI ID will cause them
to malfunction.

4.

 

There is no restriction on the position of the devices on the daisy chain.
