INSTALLATION
AC Input
The AC input power to the MRIDC Dimmer is 120 volts, 1-phase, 60Hz. A dedicated feed with upstream fuse or
circuit breaker protection is required. All wiring in and out of the MRIDC Dimmer enclosure should be made using
conduit. Knock-out provisions for 1/2 conduit are provided on top and bottom of the enclosure. Two-conductor
wire with ground, properly rated per NEC and Local code (or larger) should be used.
Terminals for the AC input are located inside of the MRIDC Dimmer. Refer to
“Appendix A - Component Location
Diagram and Circuit Diagram”
for connection points. The hot wire connects to L, Neutral to N and ground to G.
DC Outpu
t
The MRIDC Dimmer is designed to work only with incandescent lighting. The lamps should be wired in parallel.
Use the properly indicated transformer tap for the total watt rating of the load. The + and – terminals are located
inside of the MRIDC Dimmer. Refer to
“Appendix A - Component Location Diagram and Circuit Diagram”
for
connection points. The positive and negative wires should be run together in the same conduit to prevent
induction heating. The negative output is grounded to the cabinet. Normal field wiring may be used (as you
would in an AC application).
