G8264 Installation Guide

remove

one

the

installed

SFP,

SFP+,

QSFP+

transceiver

modules

from

the

switch,

complete

the

following

steps.

Disconnect

the

port

cable

from

the

transceiver.

Pull

down

the

locking

lever

release

the

transceiver.

Gently

slide

the

transceiver

out

the

switch.

After

you

remove

the

transceiver,

replace

the

safety

cap.

replace

the

transceiver

module,

see

the

appropriate

section

under

Removing and Replacing a Power Supply Module

The

rear

panel

the

G8264

has

two

bays

for

hot

‐

swap

power

supply

modules.

Two

active

power

supply

modules

are

required

for

load

‐

sharing

and

redundancy.

power

supply

module

fails,

you

can

replace

without

powering

off

the

switch

disrupting

switch

functions.

For

proper

airflow

when

operating

the

switch

with

only

one

power

supply

module,

the

empty

power

supply

bay

must

closed

blank

power

filler

plate.
