WARRANTY INFORMATION

Your gas appliance is covered by a limited 
twenty-year warranty. You will fi nd a copy 
of the warranty accompanying this manual. 
Please read the warranty to be familiar with its 
coverage.

Retain this manual. File it with your other 
documents for future reference.

Failure to comply with the installation and 
operating instructions provided will result 
in an improperly installed and operating 
appliance, voiding its warranty.

Do not attempt to alter or modify the 
construction of the appliance or its 
components. Any modifi cation or alteration 
may void the warranty, certifi cation, and 
listings of this unit.

GENERAL INFORMATION

Millivolt appliances have a millivolt gas 
control valve with piezo ignition system. If any 
optional accessories that will require electrical 
power are to be installed, the electrical power 
must be provided at the time of appliance 
installation. 

These appliances comply with National 
Safety Standards and are tested and listed 
by OMNI-Test Laboratories, Inc. (Report 
No. 116-F-36d-5) to ANSI Z21.50b-2009 (in 
Canada, CGA 2.22b-2009), and CAN/CGA-
2.17-M91 (R2009) in both USA and Canada, 
as vented gas fi replaces.

These fi replaces are vented gas appli ances. 
Do not burn wood or other material in these 
appliances.

This appliance is only for use with the 
type of gas indicated on rating plate. This 
appliance is not convertible for use with 
other gases, unless a certifi ed kit is used.

These appliances are designed to operate on 
natural gas or propane gas only. The use of 
other fuels or combinations of fuels will degrade 
the performance of this system and may be 
dangerous.

Provide adequate clearances around 
air openings and adequate accessibility 
clearance for service and proper operation. 
Never obstruct the front openings of the 
appliance.

Do not use this appliance if any part has 
been under water. Immediately call a 
qualifi ed service technician to inspect the 
appliance and to replace any part of the 
control system and any gas control that has 
been under water.

These fi replaces are designed as decor-ative 
appliances and are not intended for use as 
area heaters. They must not be
equipped with wall thermostats or remote 
controls with thermostat functions.

CAUTION: Hot while in operation. Do not 
touch. Severe Burns may result. Keep 
children, clothing furniture, gasoline and 
other liquids having fl ammable vapors 
away.

This appliance uses room air for 
combustion. It is imperative that provisions 
for adequate combustion and ventilation air 
be made. This appliance is NOT designed to 
and will not operate in a negative pressure. 
Contact your dealer if you suspect such a 
situation exists.

gas supplier.

manufacturer shall be used in the 
installation of this appliance.

These appliances must not be connected to a 
chimney or fl ue serving a separate solid fuel 
burning appliance. 

Draft relief openings must not be covered or 
blocked.

Any change to this appliance and/or its 
operating controls is dangerous. Improper 
installation or use of this appliance can 
cause serious injury or death from fi re, 
burns, explosion or carbon monoxide 
poisoning.

CARBON MONOXIDE POISONING 

Early signs of carbon monoxide poisoning 
are similar to the fl u with headaches, 
dizziness and/or nausea. If you have these 
signs, obtain fresh air immediately. Turn 
off the gas supply to the appliance and 
have it serviced by a qualifi ed professional, 
as it may not be operating correctly. 
Some people are more affected by carbon 
monoxide than others, including pregnant 
women, people with heart or lung disease 
or anemia, those under the infl uence of 
alcohol, and those at high altitudes.

Turn off gas and electrical power to the 
fi replace and allow it to cool before 
cleaning or servicing the appliance.

Appliance Operation Notices

Do not operate appliance with the glass 
front removed, cracked, or broken.

B-Vent appliances are not 
designed to operate in negatively 
pressured environments (pres-
sure within the home is less than 
pressures outside). Signifi cant 
negatively pressured environ-
ments caused by weather, home 
design, or other devices may 
impact the operation of these 
appliances.  Negative pres-
sures may result in poor fl ame 
appearance, sooting, damage to 
property and/or severe personal 
injury. Do not operate these 
appliances in negatively pres-
sured environments.
