MOUNTING BEHIND THE TRACTOR
- There are two ways to adjust the linkage pins. Depending
on how mowing is performed: immediately beside the
tractor wheels or with a certain distance from the tractor
(offset). If the mower is used in combination with a front
mower, it should be adjusted in the offset position. If the
tractor is fitted with Cat.III linkage points, the linkage pins
should be so fitted that the Cat. III side faces the outside.
- Choose position for the 240 MC mower/ conditioner and
position for the 280/320 MC mower/ conditioner. The
centre of the swath will then be placed underneath the
tractor hub in the next working pass. Always use position
when mowing down a descending slope so you can operate
as far from the side as possible.
- Adjust the tractor 3 point hitch lower arms at equal height.
- Fit the lower arms to the linkage pins of the machine’s
headstock.
- Fit the tractor’s top link to the machine by means of a Cat.
II or Cat. III top link pin.
- Adjust the hub of the main hinge shaft until it is approx. 65
cm above ground level (fig. 4) by adjusting the tractor’s
hydraulic lift to a lower or higher position.
- Place the parking jacks in the raised position.
- Secure the tractor lever arms by means of stabilisation
chains or rods keeping the machine from making sideward
movements.
- Check if the PTO shaft telescopes smoothly, and fit the
PTO shaft to the tractor PTO shaft.
- At first assembly or use of another tractor: check the
minimum and maximum overlap of the PTO shaft
halves
(please consult the instruction supplied with the PTO shaft)
.
-
The PTO shaft is shortened (RETRACTED) by
approximately 150 mm, when the breakback device
moves backwards. Make sure that there is sufficient
overlap when the breakback device is activated.
- Connect the hydraulic hoses with the blue marking to a
double acting hydraulic tractor valve and connect the hose
with the white marking to a single acting hydraulic valve
(or to the second double acting valve, if available).
- Open the ram valve (transport lock).
- Fit the safety chain of the protection tube to a rigid part
of the tractor.
- Check if the lever arms remain at an equal height when the
cutter bar is folded up.
