7. Secure the PTO guard retaining chains located at each end of the PTO shaft to the Artic-
ulator push bar and the tractor. These prevent the outer guard from turning with the PTO
shaft for safety purposes.
8. When the deck is on the ground in operating position, the push arms should be parallel
with the ground. Adjust the hitch arms until this is accomplished.
9. Complete the entire Initial Set-Up section of this manual before attempting to operate the
Articulator.
3.3 Transporting the Mounted Articulator
Engaging the tractor hydraulics to move
the deck upward will raise the wing deck
(deck 6 and 7) to the transport position.
Center hydraulic pistons will also raise
the unit off the ground. When the Articula-
tor center hydraulics are fully extended,
raise the 3-point hitch to further lift the
entire deck off the ground.
Use the deck safety cables when trans-
porting the folded deck. Be sure to
release the cables prior to lowering the
decks, as the hydraulics may break the
cables.
When transporting the decks, the front wheel should be minimum of 4 inches off the
ground, and 6 inches is preferred. Adjust the Y yoke and hitch as necessary to accom-
plish this elevation.
