The  ESD pulse  is  characterized  by  its  current  characteristic  which  is  shown  in 

Figure 2

. 

Figure 3

  shows  the  equivalent  circuit  diagram  of  the  P331-2 probe.  Both  are  in  accordance  with 

the standard IEC 64000-4-2. Please refer to 

Table 6

 for the respective waveform parameters.

The  respective  short-circuit  peak current  can  be  calculated  on  the  basis  of  the  generator voltage

The equation reveals that the probe supplies 3.7 A per kV of the generator voltage. 
 

Note:

 The pulse form is only guaranteed if the P331-2 probe is operated at a 

minimum voltage of
