Residual risks
Danger: explosive deflagration
Accelerants like petrol, spirits and other similar
liquid accelerants are extremely dangerous, as
they burn in an explosive way when ignited.
This is particularly true if such accelerants are
sprayed or poured onto hot fuel, as this can cause
a flashback in the fuel container.
If hot charcoal or briquettes are extinguished
with water, an explosive deflagration occurs as
the water evaporates instantly.
Possible consequences:
•
Severe injury to persons or damage to prop-
erty, especially burns
Safety measures:
•
Only use the fire bowl outdoors and not under
a roof.
• Only ignite the fuel with an approved igniter
(EN 1860-3) and observe the safety instructions
for the igniter while doing so.
• Do not bend over the fire bowl while igniting.
• Do not extinguish charcoal or briquets with
water.
• Carefully extinguish burning wood with a
moderate amount of water, avoiding splashes.
General Safety Precautions
Failure to observe the following basic safety meas-
ures can cause severe injury to persons and substan-
tial damage to property:
• Use the fire pit only for the intended purpose.
• Never use the fire pit despite obvious damage.
• Never modify the fire pit's technology. Only use
original spare parts by Landmann.
• Only use accessories that are approved for this fire
pit (if in doubt, contact customer service).
• Only use the fire pit outdoors and not under a
roof.
• Never leave the fire pit unattended when in use.
Take particular care to ensure that children and
persons with physical or mental disabilities keep
well away from the fire pit. They may not be able
to identify the dangers correctly.
• When using the fire pit always wear fire-proof
gloves for heat protection.
• Small parts may be lethal if swallowed. Note that
there is a danger of suffocation if the respiratory
tract is covered by packing foil.
• Do not place heavy loads on the fire pit. In par-
ticular, observe the maximum weight loads in the
Technical Specifications.
• When using the fire pit as a fire basket, burn only
dry wood as damp wood, or wood that is unsuit-
able for burning, has a tendency to let off more
sparks.
