Section 1: Assembly & Set-Up
Tractor Requirements
The SGC0548 Grapple is designed exclusively for
attaching to Kubota BX tractors with a front loader.
Kubota Tractor:
60 & 70 Series BX Tractors With a Front Loader
Hitch Requirement:
Kubota’s Original Quick Hitch Option No. BX6315
or Land Pride’s Extended Hitch Pin Option,
Part No. 380-146A.
Hydraulic Outlets:
Land Pride’s Third Function Valve Accessory Kit,
Part No. 380-137A

To avoid serious injury or death:

Consult your power machine’s manual for operating
capacity, lifting capacity, and operating specifications.
Exceeding rated capacities and specifications can result in
a roll-over or other serious hazard.

Lightweight power machines may need weight added to the
rear to maintain steering control and prevent forward
tipping or side tipping caused by a heavy front load. Consult
your power machine Operator’s Manual to determine
proper weight requirements and maximum weight
Torque Requirements
Refer to
“Torque Values Chart”
on page 20 to determine
correct torque values when tightening hardware.
Before You Start
Make sure that the intended tractor conforms to the
requirements provided on this page. Also, read and
understand this Operator’s Manual for your Claw
Grapple. An understanding of how it works will aid in its
assembly and set-up.
Go through the
before assembling the Claw Grapple. To speed up your
assembly task and make the job safer, have all needed
parts and equipment readily at hand.
Assembly Checklist
Check
Ref.
Have a fork lift or loader with properly sized chains capable of
lifting the equipment on hand.
Make sure all major components and loose
parts are shipped with the attachment.
Assembly
& Set-up
Double check to make sure all parts, fasteners,
and pins are installed in the correct location.
Refer to the Parts Manual if unsure.

Make sure working parts move freely, bolts are
tight & cotter pins are spread.
Operator’s
Manual
Make sure all safety labels are correctly
located and legible. Replace if damaged.
Parking Stands Rotated Down

Parking Stand
Parking stands (#1) should be rotated and locked down to
support the grapple in the upright position during
assembly, set-up, and when storing the grapple.
1.
Press and hold locking lever (#2) to unlock left-hand
parking stand (#1) from locking slot “A”.
2. Continue to hold locking lever (#2) and rotate parking
stand down to the position shown until locking lever
aligns with locking slot “B”.
3. Release locking lever to lock parking stand in the
rotated down position.
4. Repeat steps 1-3 for the right-hand parking stand
(#1).
5. Reverse instructions to rotate and lock parking
stands in the up position when grapple is connected
to a tractor.

Always rotate and lock parking stands
in the up position when using grapple to protect
stands against structural damage.
