Driveline Installation
Refer to Figure 1-9:
DANGER
!
To prevent serious injury or death:
•
The driveline must be connected to the implement’s input
shaft first and then to the tractor’s power take-off shaft. This
helps to prevent the possibility of lethal “whiplash” in the
event that the tractor's power take-off is unexpectedly
activated.
•
The driveline's constant velocity joint must be facing the
tractor's power take-off shaft.
WARNING
!
To prevent serious injury or death:
•
Always shut tractor down according to “Tractor Shutdown
Procedure” provided in this manual before allowing anyone
including the operator to hook up or unhook the implement.
•
Read the manual supplied with the driveline carefully. Do
not use any driveline other than the one supplied with this
implement.
h
The dealer will adjust the driveline accordingly for the
tractor.
Refer to Figure 1-9 & Figure 1-10:
1. Remove and discard the driveline safety chains (not
shown) located on both ends of the driveline.
2. Locate driveline coupler end with the inner shield.
3. Carefully clean and lubricate driveline coupling (B)
and gearbox input shaft (C).
4. Connect driveline shaft coupling (B) to the gearbox
input shaft (C) as follows:
Retainer Bolt and Nut Hook-up
a. Remove retainer nut and bolt (A).
b. Push driveline onto the gearbox input shaft until
bolt hole (D) aligns with groove (E).
c. Insert bolt (A) and secure with included nut.
Tighten nut to a torque of approximately:
•
40-44 ft-lb (54-60 Nm) for M10 bolts
•
69-75 ft-lb (93-101 Nm) for M12 bolts
•
108-114 ft-lb (146-155 Nm) for M14 bolts
Push Pin or Pull Collar Hook-up
Refer to
a. Press push pin (F) down and hold or pull back on
pull collar (G) and hold.
b. Start driveline onto the gearbox input shaft (C) as
shown in Figure 1-9.
IMPORTANT:
The driveline is normally secured to
the implement’s gearbox with a retainer bolt;
however, the shaft may also be secured with a lock
ring or a push button operated locking device.

c. Once on the gearbox input shaft, release push pin
or pull collar and continue to push the driveline
onto the shaft until the push pin or pull collar pop
out and lock onto the shaft.
d. Move driveline coupler back and forth to ensure
the driveline is secured to the shaft.
