Maintenance and Cleaning
A thorough preventive maintenance program is an owner’s best insurance against
unexpected downtime with your Model LT-30 Vacuum Tumbler.
Set up a schedule to check all moving parts for wear and/or misalignment on a monthly
basis.
Given all of the various ways equipment is used in different environments, UltraSource
recommends the owner consult sanitation experts on how to properly clean each piece
of machinery in their plant and to do bacterial testing to insure that the equipment is
cleaned properly.
Cleaning Precautions
Do not clean photo-eyes and reflectors with abrasive material. This could damage the
components.
Do not spray water directly at the control panel. This could damage the components.
Use a damp cloth to clean the control panel.
Cleaning Your Machine
Fill your machine with warm water to the top of the paddle. Using standard cleaning
solution put in ½ to 1 cup, depending on the strength. Put the cover on. Turn the
machine on and run for 10 to 15 minutes. When you stop the machine, make sure the
drain cap is on top. Remove the plug and turn the machine on until the drain is at the
bottom. Remove the lid and rinse.
Extremely hot water will cause fat to bake to the walls. Wipe off photo-eyes and
reflectors after cleaning.
Flushing Vacuum Valve on Drum
Open vacuum valve and thoroughly flush with water. This must be done between loads,
before pulling vacuum on the drum. If valve is not cleaned properly, food particles will
be drawn into the vacuum hose.
