TROUBLESHOOTING
The following are some common problems that can occur when using the Fortis™. Please
review the problems, their possible cause and any corrective action that should be taken to
ensure successful mincing, grating and slicing.
Problem Possible cause Solution
The mincer attachment is
moving about, and does not
feel secure. The mincer attachment is not
properly locked in place. Attach the mincer unit to the
lock on the base unit. Turning
it anti clockwise until the lock
button clicks outwards to show
it’s locked into place.
I cannot get food to feed down
the nozzle. The pieces of food are
too large. Switch the machine off.
Remove any food from the
nozzle. Cut the food into
smaller pieces and feed them
through the machine again.
The slicer or grater discs are
rattling when in use. The slicer/grater discs are not
properly fitted into the grater
unit. Make sure the hole at the back
of the slicer or grater disc is
slotted into the cog on the
back of the attachment.
Meat is not coming out of the
mincer attachment. Meat is stuck in the mincer
worm shaft. Press the reverse button for
1-2 seconds to dislodge the
meat, and continue use.
Sausage meat is coming out of
the sides of the sausage horn. The sausage ring is not
securely in place. Switch the machine off,
undo the mincer ring and
reattach the sausage horn
to the machine, making sure
everything is securely in place.
