Choking Charlie is a lifelike manikin which realistically
simulates a choking victim who is unable to speak or
breathe due to a foreign body airway obstruction. It is
specifically designed for training the Heimlich
Abdominal Thrust Maneuver.
The manufacturing quality of this simulator should
provide many sessions of training when reasonable
care and maintenance are practiced.
Laerdal Recommends:
Be sure bolus is lodged tightly down throat of
Choking Charlie. No air should be escaping. This will
assist in efforts to expel bolus when performing the
Heimlich Abdominal Thrust Maneuver.
