7) Next, you will have to connect the drive’s power, IDE and audio cables,
as shown in the figures here:
Connect the cables in the following order:
Connect the power cable from the
computer to the DVD drive, paying
close attention to the polarity of the
cable.
Connect the IDE interface cable.
Make sure that Pin 1 on the drive
corresponds to Pin 1 on the cable.
Connect the drive’s audio cable
between the sound output terminal
on the drive and the audio output
terminal on the sound card.
9) Now you are ready to put the computer’s cover back on and reconnect all of your external peripheral devices and cables.
