If your SC-5500 is part of an integrating sphere system with Labsphere software, the software 
application can access the non-communications parameters on the Options Menu. When the SC-
5500 powers up, the default parameters will always be restored. By applying the lock mode to 
the instrument during operation, you can disable the buttons on the front panel of the instrument. 
In the lock mode, only software configurations are effective. The lock mode is released automat-
ically when you exit the software application. The lock mode feature may not be available on all 
Labsphere software applications.

3 1/2 and 4 1/2 Digit Display

The detector readout can be displayed in the LCD window using three or four decimals. Appli-
cation of calibration coefficients may decrease this resolution. The default parameter is

Display Format

The LCD display format can be switched between 

DIGITAL

, which shows the measurement 

along with the units, or 

ANALOG

, which shows the measurement along with a proportional 

sliding-bar graph. The default setting at power up is

Digital Filter

Enabling the digital filter reduces background fluctuations, thereby providing more stable read-
ings. Disabling the filter provides quicker, continuous readings. The default setting at power up 
is 

DISABLED

.

Front Panel Lights

The LED indicators on the front panel can be toggled on or off. The off position reduces ambient 
light in a dark room situation. The default setting at power up is 

ENABLED

.

Back Light

The LCD display back light can be toggled on or off. The off position reduces ambient light in a
