7.0 ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONS & FIELD WIRING
(SEE FIGURES A OR B)
Make sure that AC power is off at main AC breaker box before installation begins. Terminal blocks are
provided for connecting the AC input and DC output. A ground wire must be connected to the units’ case
ground.
7.1
AC INPUT
Make sure that the input source is the same voltage and frequency as that which is marked on the
nameplate of the rectifier.
Before making any connections to the A36D ensure that the AC Power is off at the main breaker box and
that both of the unit’s breakers are off. Check that the source voltage and frequency matches the voltage
and frequency listed on the charger nameplate. For units with transformer taps, verify that the tap has been
set to the correct AC input. (See Section 3.1 for instructions on changing the transformer tap). Determine
minimum AC protection device & wire size using the table and the formula shown below.

NOTE: These are recommended sizes. All National and Local Wiring Codes must be followed. Wire
insulation must be rated for 90C or better.
Example:
Name Plate Draw = 25A
(25A + 15%) + 15% = 33A
The minimum 35Amp
AC Breaker should be used
