STEP 7
There are two holes drilled on each edge of the
headboard panel. Place a dowel in the lower (and
slightly larger) hole on each side. There are two holes
drilled on each edge of the headboard brace. Place a
dowel in the lower (and slightly larger) hole on each side.
STEP 8
Place a barrel nut in each of the holes on the back of the
headboard panel and headboard brace so that the groove
on the barrel nut is facing up and runs in the direction of
the headboard panel or headboard brace.
STEP 9
Line up the holes in one of the headboard posts with the
holes on the edge of the headboard panel. Starting from
the outside of the headboard post, thread a 4” bolt
through the top hole in the headboard post so that it
connects with the barrel nut in the headboard panel.
Using a Phillips head screwdriver, tighten until the bolt is
threaded into the barrel nut, but DO NOT tighten all the
way (the use of a flat head screwdriver to hold the barrel
nut in the correct position is recommended). Repeat this
process for the first side of the headboard brace, making
sure the dowels also line up. Line up the holes on the
second headboard post and repeat this process on the
other side.
STEP 10
Once all the bolts are connected, go back and tighten all
4 bolts completely. Your headboard is now assembled.
STEP 11
Locate the two side rails, the footboard, and the
headboard.
STEP 12
Stand the headboard upright.
STEP 13
Locate the eight 3½” bolts and eight barrel nuts. Insert
the barrel nuts into the holes on the inside of the side rails
with the groove facing up. Turn the groove on each
barrel nut so that it is running the length of the rail.
