Detailed Settings of FAX Functions > Polling Communication

Performing polling transmission

1

Select [Polling Box] on the Home screen.

Place the originals.

3

Display the screen.

Select [Store File].

4

Select the type of originals, scanning density, etc., as necessary.

The table below lists the items to be set.

For each of the functions, refer to the following:

Detailed Settings of FAX Functions (5-1)

Machine’s Operation Guide

Start storing.

Press the [Start] key. The originals are scanned and stored in the Polling box.

Cancelling Polling Transmissions

To cancel a polling transmission, delete the polling transmission original saved in the polling box. For information on how
to delete the saved original, refer to the following:

Function

Description

2-sided/Book Original

Select the type and orientation of the binding based on the original.

Density

Adjusts the density used for scanning originals.

Scan Resolution

Chooses the level of detail used for scanning originals.

File Name Entry

Allows you to rename the files created from scanned originals. You can also use
this function to add the job number and/or date.

Function

Description

Original Size

Specify the original size to be scanned. Be sure to always select the original size
when using custom size originals.

Original Orientation

To ensure that the originals are stored in the correct orientation, this indicates the
orientation of the original document top edge. To use the following functions,
select the orientation of the originals.

2-sided/Book Original

Storing Size

Selects the storage size (the size of stored originals).

Original Image

Select the image quality according to the original image type.

Skip Blank Page

When there are blank pages in a scanned document, this function skips the
blank pages and scans only pages that are not blank.

Continuous Scan

Scans a large number of originals in separate batches and then produce as one
job.

Long Original

Allows you to use the document processor to scan overlength originals
(documents that are long in the feed direction).

Job Finish Notice

Sends a notice by an e-mail when a scanning is complete.
