Tips on how to save energy
Here you will find some important hints on
how to use your new induction hob and
induction cookware economically and
efficiently.
• When purchasing cookware please note
that it is frequently the diameter of the top
of the pot that is indicated. This is usually
larger than the base of the pot.
• Pressure cookers are particularly useful
for reducing time and energy required,
since they are tightly closed and cook with
pressure. Short cooking times also
preserve vitamins.
• Always ensure that there is sufficient liquid
in the pressure cooker since if the pot
dries out the cooking zone and the pot
may be damaged due to overheating.
• If possible, always cover cooking pots with
a tightly-fitting lid.
• Use the right size of pot for the respective
quantity of food. A large pot which is
hardly filled will use up a lot of energy.
Pan detection device
An advantage of induction heating is the pan
detection device. If there is no cooking pan
on a cooking zone or if the pan is too small,
no electricity will be transmitted.
When a cooking zone is switched on, the
pan display ” ” will light up in the cooking
level display. If within ten minutes, a pan is
placed on the induction cooking zone, it will
recognise the pan and switch on at the
cooking level set.
The power supply will be cut off when the
pan is removed from the cooking zone.
Should smaller pots or pans be placed on a
cooking zone and the pan detection device
still be activated, only sufficient electricity for
the respective pot or pan will be generated.
Cooking levels
There are nine power settings for the
cooking zones.
In the table below you will find examples of
