Using the hotplates
Please note the safety instructions on page 14!
The cooking zones
Each hotplate has its own control knob. Nine cooking settings are marked
on the hotplate controls, but you can also select finer intermediate settings.
As far as possible, start cooking at the highest setting and continue at a lo-
wer setting.

Which are the best pots and pans?
You can save time and energy by choosing the best pans.
Use pots and pans with flat, smooth bases.
Choose a pot or pan whose diameter fits the hotplate.
Features of the glass-ceramic hob
Frying zone or dual circuit cooking zone
As a standard rule, the smaller cooking zone heats up.
Change the control to the outer cooking zone circuit for frying pans or lar-
ger saucepans.
Turn the hotplate control as far as it
will go to the right.
Then set it to the required cooking
setting.
To return to the smaller zone: reset the
hotplate control to “0”.
Hotplate heating indicators 1
The indicators will light up as long as the hotplates are still very hot – even
after the hotplates have been switched off.
Caution! The indicator can be defective (defective light bulb). You will not be
warned when the hotplates are hot. Have the light bulb replaced immediately.
Warm zone
Some glass ceramic hobs are provided with a zone for keeping food warm.
The warm zone is controlled by means of sensor pads.
Switching on:
First touch sensor pad 2, then touch
sensor pad 3.
The operating controls are on.
Switching off:
Touch sensor pad 4.
Warm zone indicator
The warm zone indicator 5 is on
when the warm zone is hot.
Caution! The indicator can be defecti-
ve (defective light bulb). Now you will
not be warned when the warm zone
is hot. Have the light bulb replaced
immediately.
