WHEELS (for user)
Periodically remove any dirt from the machine housing and wheels. Accumulated dirt
may cause undulations on the surface being sanded.
DUST BAG (for user)
Remove the dust bag and shake it vigorously to remove the collected sawdust. Turn
the bag inside out and wash it in the wash machine in could water to prevent pore
blockage which decreases dust suction capacity.
GRAPHITE BRUSHES (for user)
Danger:
Before proceeding with this operation make sure that the cable
is disconnected from the mains lead.
The motor has two graphite brushes that must be checked every six months or after
500 working hours.
To check the brushes proceed as follows:
1.
Remove the four motor cover screws using the Allen key provided.
2.
Remove the cable terminal screws from each brush.
3.
Pull back the brush spring and extract the brush.
4.
Check the brushes. If one of them is more than 12mm shorter, replace both
brushes.
5.
Repeat the operations in the contrary way in order to reset the machine.
Warning:
When installing new brushes, check that the cables do not
interfere with the rotor before replacing the cover.
LUBRICATION (for user)
The machine does not require lubrication. All moving parts, including motor
components, are fitted with sealed bearings with lubrication for approx. 10,000
working hours.
LUBRICATION (for the assistance centre)
The reduction unit gears are lubricated whit special grease of long duration. It is
advisable to check periodically the state of lubrication of the reduction unit. Because
of the overheating the grease could loose its own features.
Check that it had always a brown colour and had a fluid consistency. A colour like
black and the presence of solid clots indicate an unsuitable state. In this case it is
advisable to clean the gears and to lubricate them again using the specific grease (for
any further information - technical features - please contact K&T). To open the
reduction compartment turn the machine upside-down, dismantle the pad holder
plate and loosen the four screws which overhanging the internal rim of the base. The
other four screws (embed into the base) serve to remove the upper part (motor).
WARNING:
Do not use an excessive quantity of grease but follow the K&T
instructions also concerning the quantity (100-150g are sufficient). An exaggerated
quantity would cause an overheating of reduction unit without any benefits on the
lubrication of the gears.
