2. Pull the lock lever all the way back. (lock position)
3. Put the throttle potentiometer in the middle between
" " and " " symbols. The switch for Auto Idle
control is in the OFF position.
(See "AUTO IDLE (AI) OPERATION" in the Excavator
operation.)
4. Insert the key into the starter switch and turn it to the
position "RUN". The LCD display shows the figure
below. The glow lamp will light up while the engine is
preheated and will go out automatically after
preheating is finished.
5. Turn the key to the position "START" and release after
the engine has started.
6. Check if all warning lamps have gone out. Should a
warning lamp still be lit up, stop the engine then
remove the key and check for the cause.

When the lock levers are in "UNLOCK" position, the
engine does not start.
