The appliance does
not switch on when
the ON/OFF button
is pressed.
Power failure or blown fuse.
The mains plug is not pushed into
the mains socket correctly or the 230V
mains socket is faulty.
The appliance is faulty.
Check the fuses of your electri-
cal installation.
Check that the plug is correctly
inserted into the socket or have
the socket repaired.
Have the appliance checked by
a qualified technician.
The espresso or cof-
fee is not hot en-
ough.
The temperature of the coffee is not
set high enough.
The coffee cup is cold.
Check the temperature of the
coffee (see point 3.3).
Warm the cup by rinsing it
with hot water before starting
the preparation.
The coffee is too
lightly coloured or
too weak.
There is not enough coffee in the
coffee bean holder (19).
The coffee is too coarse.
Too much coffee is prepared.
Add coffee beans to the hol-
der.
Use the grinder setting button
(17) to obtain a finer grind.
The coffee dis-
penses too slowly.
The coffee is too fine.
Use the grinder setting button
(17) to obtain a coarser grind.
The coffee is not
creamy.
The coffee is too coarse.
The coffee is not fresh.
Use the grinder setting button
(17) to obtain a finer grind.
Use fresher coffee beans
You have accidentally used ground coffee instead of coffee
beans.
Suck out the coffee in the cof-
fee bean holder with your va-
cuum cleaner.
The coffee does not
come out of the cof-
fee tube (24).
The tube is blocked.
Unblock the tube with the
cleaning wire or a toothpick.
The coffee grinder
makes a strange
noise.
Foreign bodies are inside the grin-
der.
