Communication Setting (basic configuration)
Use Communication Setting to establish communications with the host
application. This screen will appear if any information is missing from the text
boxes when the Series 4000 timeclock is powered on.
The following settings are in Communication Setting:

Device ID—A six-digit ID number that identifies the timeclock. The host
application uses this number to identify the timeclock.

IP Address—The IP address, including the periods, assigned to the timeclock
by your system administrator.

Gateway—The IP address, including the periods, of the default device that
forwards data to the host application. This field holds up to 15 digits.
!
Subnet Mask—A number that identifies a subnetwork so that an IP address
can be found on a local area network (LAN). This field holds up to 15 digits.
Note
These settings are part of the basic configuration of the timeclock. You must
complete these settings when you power up the timeclock for the first time and if
you replace the cover assembly.
You need to enter the periods as you type the settings in Communication Setting.
When you complete the screen, the timeclock reboots so that the settings can take
effect.
Step Display Action
1 Maintenance Mode idle
display Press the Communication Setting soft key.
2 Device ID Type the Device ID setting and press ENTER.
3 IP Address Type the IP Address setting and press ENTER.
4 Gateway Type the Gateway setting and press ENTER.
5 Subnet Mask Type the Subnet Mask setting and press ENTER.
