Codabar
A bar code symbology used for ID cards, blood banks, and some package delivery
carriers.
Code 39
A bar code symbology used for industrial, medical, and government applications.
Code 128
A bar code symbology endorsed by several industry trade groups and used widely
in manufacturing, especially in Europe.
contrast
The degree of difference between light and dark extremes of color on the
timeclock’s display. You set this as part of the local configuration of the
timeclock.
Ethernet
Widely used LAN technology. Defined by the IEEE 802.3 specification.
European Article Numbering (EAN)
The EAN-8 and EAN-13 bar code symbologies that have a character set
consisting of the numeric characters 0 through 9 and a check digit.
FIFO (first-in-first-out)
A storage retrieval method or buffering scheme in which the data that enters the
buffer or storage medium first is the first to be retrieved.
File Transfer Protocol (FTP)
An industry-standard protocol used to transfer files to and from a remote
computer.
flash memory
A constantly charged memory in which each bit of data is stored in a cell or
transistor as one of two voltage levels.
