To Authorize a Disc
Child Protection Dialog Box
on Screen
When child lock is active, the child protection dialog box appears on
screen each time a new DVD or VCD is played.
1. Enter your secret code and select
PLAYBACK ONCE
. The disc can
be played as long as it is in the Showcase DVD transport, and
the player is
ON.
or
Enter your secret code and select
PLAYBACK ALWAYS
. The disc is
authorized for play and the child safe temporary field icon is dis-
played, even if the child lock function in the setup menu is
ON.
If
you select
PLAY ALWAYS
, the player will remember the disc for
future use.
The Showcase DVD keeps a list of 80 child safe disc titles in memory.
A disc is placed at the top of the list when you select
PLAYBACK ALWAYS
in the child protection dialog box. When the list is full and a new disc
is added, the last disc on the list is deleted from memory. Double
sided DVDs may have a different ID for each side. To make the disc
child safe, each side needs to be authorized.
