DK1100 FE / DK3100 QUICK START GUIDE

•  The Power Twist belt included with this machine is a ‘directional belt’ which is designed to operate in one direction only.  On the belt
there are small black arrows (shown in picture below) which indicate which direction the belt is intended to turn.

Facing the front

of the machine, the DK 1100 FE’s belt will turn clockwise, while the DK 3100’s belt will turn counter-clockwise.

  For

the best possible results, you will need to ‘break-in’ your belt before use.  To do this, install the belt and allow the machine to idle for
5 minutes without drilling.  Then, re-tighten the belt to ensure a snug fi t, as detailed
in this instruction manual on page 13.  After the initial testing, test the belt for
tightness at least once per day for one week, and make adjustments as necessary.
After the break-in period, Kreg recommends you check the tightness of the belt
and make adjustments as necessary, once per week.

RECOMMENDED AIR PRESSURE:

Electric Models: 90 psi

 Machine-Specifi c Warnings:

• This machine was intended for use with a 20 amp electrical service only.  To

reduce the possibility of fi re hazard, only use this machine with a properly

wired 20 amp outlet, indicated by a horizontal notch in the outlet’s left opening
as shown in the picture to the right..

•  In the event of a malfunction or breakdown, grounding provides a path of
least resistance for the electric current.  This primarily serves to reduce the
risk of electric shock.  This tool is equipped with an electric cord having an

equipment-grounding conductor and a grounding plug.  The plug must
be plugged into a matching outlet that is properly installed and grounded
in accordance with all local codes and ordinances.  If the proper outlet is not

available, have one installed by a

qualifi ed electrician before use.  Never remove
the third prong, and never modify the provided plug in any way.

•  Improper connection of the equipment-grounding conductor can result in a risk of electric shock.  The conductor with insulation
having an outer surface that is green with or without yellow stripes is the equipment-grounding conductor.  If repair or
replacement of the electric cord or plug is necessary, do not connect the equipment-grounding conductor to a live terminal.
Check with a qualifi ed electrician or service professional if the grounding instructions are not completely understood, or if in doubt

as to whether the tool is properly grounded.  Use only 3-wire extension cords that have 3-prong grounding plugs and 3-pole
receptacles that accept the tools plug.

• Use proper extension cord. Make sure your extension cord is in good condition. When using an extension cord, be sure
to use one heavy enough to carry the current your product will draw. An undersized cord will cause a drop in line
voltage resulting in loss of power and overheating. The

table below shows the correct size to use depending on cord

length and nameplate ampere rating. If in doubt, use the next heavier gage. The smaller the gage number, the heavier
 the

cord.
