Presenting Content from External Wired Device
This feature is supported by
VIA Connect PLUS
only.
VIA Connect PLUS
enables you to show content on the main display from an external device
connected to the HDMI IN connector. The HDMI input can be used for a stand-alone device or
switcher with multiple sources.
To present content from an external wired device:

Connect the device to the
VIA Connect PLUS
HDMI IN Connector
.
If there are no other presenters, your content is presented on the entire screen.
If there are other presenters, your content is presented on the main display as one
user screen.
A green check appears on the HDMI Input icon on the dashboard features.
On the VIA app dashboard, click the HDMI Input icon to toggle showing and hiding the
HDMI input on the display.
Enabling Control of Your Device
VIA Connect
enables you let other participants take control of your device. The other
participants can then open files and open and operate apps on your device.
To enable other participants to control your device:
1. Mirror your screen on the main display using the
Kramer VIA
Windows Laptops and Android Mobile Devices Using Kramer VIA
).
2. On the dashboard, click
Show Options > Features > Enable Control
.
Any participant that starts Collaboration (see
) can
now control your device.
To disable control of your device, in the Features tab of the dashboard, click
Enable Control
.
Taking Control of Participant Device
VIA Connect
enables taking control of a participant's device from the Gateway dashboard.
The user who takes control can then open files and open and operate apps on the
participants device.
To take control of a participant’s device from the gateway dashboard:
1. On the gateway dashboard, click
Participants
.
The Participants tab appears.
2. Click the
Display Status
icon for the Participant of whom you would like to take control.
