8.3 Control Board Removal
and Installation
WARNING: If burner and/or pilot have been burning,
use appropriate protection to avoid burns or damage
to personal property before removing any components.
DO NOT OPERATE THIS APPLIANCE WITHOUT THE SEALING
GASKET (LOCATED UNDER THE CONTROL BOARD) IN PLACE.
IF GASKETING IS DAMAGED, IT MUST BE REPLACED.
CAUTION: Check all connections for leaks with soapy water,
whether field or factory made.
8.3.1 Control Board Removal
1. Disconnect electrical power.
2. Locate the manual valve installed by your qualified service
technician.
3. Turn the manual valve clockwise to the OFF position.
4. Remove the safety barrier and glass frame assembly.
5. Remove log set.
6. Remove the pilot shield and bottom refractory panels.
LP GAS MODELS: Remove LP log plate.
7. Remove refractory panel set (if installed).
8. Remove burner tube from firebox by lifting it up off the tabs,
slide to the left and off the orifice.
9. Remove front log supports. Save supports and screws.
10. Remove log grate / burner heat shield.
11. Remove and save (6) screws securing control board. Lift the
control board out of the firebox, being careful not to damage
the sealing gasket underneath.
8.3.2 Control Board Installation
1. Place the control board in the firebox, aligning the holes in
control board with the holes in firebox bottom.
VERIFY SEALING GASKET IS IN PLACE.
2. Secure the control board to the firebox using (6) screws
previously removed.
3. Install log grate / burner heat shield into fireplace. Ensure
entire assembly (the front flange) is inside firebox when
completed.
4. Reinstall front log supports, securing with screws previously
removed.
5. Reinstall burner tube. Slide venturi over the orifice and place
the burner tube mounting holes over the tabs on the log
grate/ burner heat shield assembly.
LP GAS MODELS: Reinstall LP log plate.
6. Reinstall pilot shield.
7. Reinstall refractory panel set and log set.
8. Reinstall glass frame assembly and safety barrier.
9. Turn the manual valve counterclockwise to the ON position.
10. Reconnect electrical power.
11. Verify proper log placement, operation of fireplace, and any
electrical comp
