Enabling/disabling control change transmission/
reception filtering
This lets you transmit damper pedal signals and other
data from the LP-380 to control a MIDI application run-
ning on your computer, or control the LP-380 as it receives
said data from the MIDI application on your computer.
To transmit/receive control change messages, disable this
function (oFF: default setting). To not transmit/receive the
messages, enable this function (on).
• Enter the MIDI function mode, and then press the
E.PIANO2 button.
The E.PIANO2 sound button lights up, and the setting
(oFF) appears in the display.
Using the LP-380 as a multi-timbral sound module
The 16-part multi-timbral sound generator on the LP-380
can be controlled and played from a MIDI application on
your computer.
1.
Connect the USB port on the LP-380 to your computer
with a USB cable.
2.
Transmit MIDI data from the sequencer or other ap
-
plication on the connected computer.
For details on transmitting data from the sequencer or
other MIDI device, refer to its user’s manual.
3.
When the LP-380 receives the program change message
along with the performance data, it will play with the
sound corresponding to that program number.
If the LP-380 is not to be used as a multi-timbral sound
module, disable this function (oFF).
• Enter the MIDI function mode, and then press the
HARPSI/CLAV button.
The HARPSI/CLAV sound button lights up, and the
setting (on: default setting) appears in the display.
Enabling/disabling program change transmis-
sion/reception filtering
You can send MIDI program change numbers from the LP-
380 to change programs on MIDI applications that are run-
ning on the computer that you have connected. Also, the
LP-380 can receive MIDI program change numbers sent
from a MIDI application running on the computer you
have connected, to change programs on the LP-380.
This will not change the sound you hear when playing
the keyboard of the LP-380.
For program change numbers and their corresponding
sounds, refer to “Table of sounds and corresponding pro-
gram change numbers” below.
To transmit/receive program change messages, disable this
function (oFF: default setting). To not transmit/receive the
messages, enable this function (on).
• Enter the MIDI function mode, and then press the
E.PIANO1 button.
The E.PIANO1 sound button lights up, and the setting
(oFF) appears in the display.
Transmitting program changes
When a sound is selected using the sound buttons and
BANK button on the LP-380, the corresponding MIDI pro
-
gram change number is transmitted.
Receiving program changes
When the LP-380 receives a MIDI program change num-
ber, the sound is changed to the corresponding number.
If an incompatible program change number is re-
ceived, the LP-380 sound is not changed.
