Addressing to be used in place of
CHS.

32-Bit I/O

Disabled

Enabled

Enables 32-bit communication
between CPU and IDE card.
Requires PCI or Local Bus.

Transfer Mode

Fast PIO 2

Fast PIO 3

Fast PIO 4
FPIO3 / DMA1
FPIO4 / DMA2

Selects the method for transferring
the data between the hard disk and
system memory. Autotype the drive
to select the optimum transfer mode.

imminent failure of drive.
