USAGE NOTES / FUNCTION
HANDLING THE LOAD
GENERAL
WARNING! Do not underestimate the weight of the lighting
- The placement, extension and retraction of the lighting must
-
be performed by at least TWO PHYSICALLY FIT TECHNICIANS.
- Hold the end tube and extension tube tightly when extending the
-
tube and secure it just at the point desired height is reached
-
using the clamping bracket and locking ring.
- IMPORTANT: Ensure that one person tightens the clamping
-
screw(s), even if the second person is not able to hold the
-
distance rod.
PRIOR TO PLACING THE LIGHTING
10
a. First loosen the locking ring and clamping bracket
10
b. Now extend the end tube approx. 20 cm
10
c. Now tighten the locking ring and clamping bracket.
PLACING THE LIGHTING ON THE TUBE
11
a. SCREW together with socket screw M10
7
:
11
a.1 Connection sleeve K&M 66350 or TV-pin K&M 24516
11
a.2 Lighting support arms (for individual lighting)
11
a.3 Crossbar K&M 21390 (for up to 8 lights)
11
b. PLACED on the 35 mm-adapter sleeve
6
and clamped
11
b.1. Crossbar K&M 21393 or 24622 ( for up to 8 lights)
EXTENSION OF THE LOAD
EXTENSION OF THE LOAD
RETRACTION OF THE LOAD
CASE 1, 2 and 3: Overlap between the base tube, extension and end tube
12
TIP: We recommend extending both sides equally, i.e. do not
12
extend one side fully and the other side just a little bit. The tube
12
combination is stiffer as a result. Example: Extension of the
12
minimum distance 1.43 m to 2.5 m. The following is better:
12
1.43 m + 0.5 m + 0.57 m than: 1.43 m + 0.81 m + 0.26 m
FIRST PERSON:
- Holds the distance rod
-
with the load
SECOND PERSON:
- Operates the clamping brackets
-
and locking rings on both tubes
13
Hold the end tube (ø 30 mm):
13
with both hands
15
Hold the end tube up high
15
with the lighting on it;
19
Holdup both tubes with the
19
lighting to the desired height
14
Loosen the upper clamping bracket
16
Tighten the upper clamping bracket
17
Place the upper locking ring onto
17
the bracket and tighten
18
Now loosen the lower clamping
18
bracket
20
Tighten the lower clamping bracket
21
Place the lower locking ring onto
21
the bracket and tighten
RETRACTION OF THE LOAD
22
Hold onto the tube combi-
22
nation with both hands
25
Hold onto the tube combi-
25
nation and let it retract slowly
28
Hold onto the tube combi-
28
nation with both hands
31
Hold onto the end tube and
31
let is retract slowly
34
Remove the load from
34
the end tube
23
Loosen the lower locking ring
24
Carefully loosen the lower
24
clamping bracket so that the
24
tube is RETRACTED IN A
24
SLOW FASHION
26
Tighten lower clamping
26
bracket
27
Tighten lower locking ring
29
Loosen the upper locking ring
30
Carefully LOOSEN the upper
30
clamping bracket, so that the
30
tube is RETRACTED IN A
30
SLOW FASHION
32
Tighten the upper clamping
32
bracket
33
Tighten the upper locking ring
35
If required (e.g. for transport purposes) the protruding end
35
tube can be retracted completely.
